Baby sissy – Austynn
Faith arrived – this was tough on Cars (and mom, too) – was super cute at
hospital – gave her kisses
18 1/2 months
Started saying LOTS of
words!! Yeah :) Started with “lawn mower” &
“basketball” – soooo cute to listen to him say them! Then he just realized he
could say or try to say anything – he says, please, thank you, more, olive,
santa, ho-ho-ho, almost grandma, nana, nose, sissy.
It was ADORABLE when he
said “sissy” – it was Sunday, Dec 21st – we took pictures of Carson
and Austynn together for the 1st time. We had Carson hold her on his
lap while sitting on the chair. He was sooo excited to do this by himself &
had the biggest smile and kissed her & everything. Just the sweetest thing-
melted mom’s heart! Then on the way to church (right after the pictures) he
started saying “sissy” and pointing at Austynn in her car seat. It was
priceless!

Sunday, Dec 28th
– Carson stuck a huge ½ peanut up his nose. I had given him a peanut and some
chex mix while we were driving and he was in his car seat. He pointed at his
nose, so I thought he might have stuck something up there, but I couldn’t feel
anything. Finally 30 or some minutes later, Mitch looked, and sure enough a
peanut! We tried lots to get it out, but couldn’t do it. Mitch took him to
urgent care and they finally got it with tweezers. You would think he would
learn his lesson? He was trying to put black beans up his nose at dinner
tonight (12/29) :)
Grouping things –
really likes to get all his cars together and put them by the race track.
Enjoys playing/building with his big legos.
I put him down in a
diaper w/o pants and went in to find his diaper thrown out of crib and he was
sitting on his pillow w/ bare buns! Thankfully I must have gone in shortly
after it happened b/c no mess…whew!
Went in one morning to
get him up and he had taken his PJs all the way off and was sitting in his
diaper :)

After the Super Bowl,
Cars was in his crib saying, “go, go, go” before he went to sleep – guess he
listened to his dad during the game!
He tries to put
Austynn’s paci back in her mouth and says “uh-oh” or “bubbles” when she has
bubbles coming from her mouth.
When Ashley calls my
phone, he knows the ring tone, and says “aun-ie, aun-ie” b/c he knows it is Ash :)
Oh, found a marker on
the ground, washable, and colored all over the walls, door, floor, toys, etc –
finally came into the kitchen where I was b/c he knew he shouldn’t be doing it.
Likes to shut the door,
with me in the room, and say “bye, bye” to me :)
Putting two words
together.
Loves to help me cook
in the mornings – we put our meal in the crock pot and he stands on the chair
and helps. Enjoys stirring stuff – doesn’t always stay in the bowl!
Lots and lots of words
now and trying new ones.
Learning his colors.
Can hand us the correct colored block when we ask for it.
Oh bud! Look at your little rash...you were so sick for about a year! After your one year shots and until you were 2. We started going to the gym after Austynn was born and you picked up every germ and could not get healthy! You had pneumonia twice and had to get 3 chest xrays - 2 of them in a row and two doses of medicine - when you were 2, in the summer, we finally got you healthy!

Time flies! You are
such a big boy!! Talking, and talking, and talking! Saying so many things now –
pretty much try everything. Really try to talk to me. You say “dada work” – it
is really cute :)
You started calling my
dad “papa” and call my mom “nana” (have done nana for awhile. You just spent
the weekend with them & came home saying
“nana, papa and Papa, nana” all the time!
Said “Nike” today – as
clear as could be! Interacting well with other kids and starting to interact
more with Austynn.
Went potty in the
toilet, on purpose, for the 1st time – so far have only done once.
Moved to a toddler bed
– doing pretty good – have fallen out a couple times – get up 0-2 times a night
still.

Man, you are into
everything! :) Here are a few of the things you did
w/in a 2 week period – learning to try to nap in your toddler bed, when you can
get out – wiped diaper cream all over the floor, flipped the breaker switches
(hidden in your closet, but you found them – g grandpa fixed a switch so you
can’t get in any more), pulled out all the wipes from the diaper wipes, pulled
out all the diapers from the basket, pulled out dresser drawers, ripped pages
from books – goodness kid! After some discipline, you started doing better (and
moving the issues to areas you couldn’t reach).
You REALLY started
talking this month – ALL sorts of new words, sooo much fun to watch you learn –
I love it!
You know your colors
and a lot of letters
We took your paci away
a week before your 2nd b-day – you are doing great w/o it!
You LOVE being outside!!
